This weekend has been fantastic. Incredibly busy and I am exhuasted, but we have had a fabulous time, and it’s all thanks to our two ‘Golden Girls’, Wilma and Biondina.
Wilma is a full Haflinger from Tyrol. Yes she is typically stubborn as a ‘Haffy’ but she is the sweetest, kindest, most loving mare you could ever wish for.
Wilma’s latest fan.
Biondina is an Arab x Haflinger. She is stubborn too, and a little cheeky! On the trails she is like a mountain goat, able to climb anything without hesitation. She is a tough little girl too, and must have the heart of a lion.
Biondina can be a bit cheeky!
Without Wilma or Biondina, I don’t think we’d have much of a business. Both of these ponies will take a nervous or novice child or adult on their first ride out and look after them. They can take an experienced rider for a quick canter or jump around a small cross country course. You can play games with them such as jousting and even the smallest child can ride them bareback.
This weekend they also endured a 2 hour ride in a trailer to a kid’s party on the outskirts of Florence where they gave pony rides around the garden to the children (and a couple of the parents too!). Neither pony batted an eyelid to arrive at a strange place and to walk around the garden while little cowboys and in’juns were firing water pistols at each other! Although I did see the relief on their faces when we arrived back home. I really think these ponies must be made of gold!
Wilma enjoys a well deserved glass of Champagne!
